Academic Courses

Academic Courses which are year-long and use the BC curriculum as their minimum standard, include the following: 

All grades must take

Religion and English 

Grades 8-9 must take

Career and Health, Socials Studies, Science, Math, Physical Education, French or Learning Assistance

Grade 10 must take

Planning, Socials Studies, Science, Math, Physical Education, French or Learning Assistance

Grade 11 must take

Socials Studies

All grades may take

 Full-Year Band or Choir

Grades 8-9 may take instead

one Semester Arts Elective each year: Art or Drama and one Semester Applied Skills Elective each year: Information Technology or Woodworking

 Grades 11 and 12 choose from

English Literature 12, Civics 11, Economics 12,  Geography 12, History 12, Law 12, Comparative Civilizations 12, Psychology 11-AP12, Human Geography 12-AP12; French 11-12; Mathematics 11-12, Calculus 12; Earth Science 11, Chemistry 11-12, Biology 11-12; Physics 11-12; Information Technology 11-12, Media Arts 12; Physical Education 11-12, Leadership 11-12, Fitness 11-12, Sports Therapy 11; Art 11-12, Theater Performance 11-12, Guitar Building 11, Yearbook 11-12, Sound and Recording 11-12
