Grad Class Activities

Graduation season is here for the Class of 2012!  All of us at STM are thrilled to share this very special milestone with our students and their families.  Following is a list of events our grads participate in through May and June.  The Parents Association Grad Committee is hard at work organizing and fundraising for these events - information on their vital efforts follows below.

Graduation Mass

Tues. May 22, 2012 @ 7 pm @ OLM
Reception to follow in the cafeteria and courtyard
All Grads and Parents expected to attend
All are asked to dress appropriately for Mass (no jeans).

Graduation Breakfast

Tues. June 26, 2012 @ 8 am in the school cafeteria
All Grads expected to attend.
Dress is similar to Summer Dress Code.

Commencement Ceremonies

Tues. June 26, 2012 @ 5 pm @ Massey Theatre
Tickets are available from the STM Front Office
Reception to follow in the cafeteria and courtyard
Formal attire is expected

Graduation Dinner Dance

Wed. June 27, 2012 starting @ 6 pm @ Fairmont Hotel
All staff invited along with their significant other.
Tickets are available through Mr. Muise or online with a credit card (click the button at right)
Formal attire is expected

Parents Association Grad Committee - Organizing and Fundraising

Each year a Grad Committee is formed by the Parents Association to organize a series of activities for the graduating class.  There are four grad events funded through the efforts of the Grad Committee - Grad Mass Reception, Grad Breakfast, Commencement Reception and Dry Grad Celebration.  Details on these and other activities and the expectations of each graduating family can be found in the Grad Guide - please click below to download and read it.

The Grad Fee

The Grad Committee needs to raise approximately $25,000 to fund Grad Mass Reception, Grad Breakfast, Commencement Reception and Dry Grad Celebration.  A portion of this amount comes from a “Grad Fee” which is paid by the parents.  There are two fee levels:

  1. $100/student if you would like to fundraise
  2. $200/student if you do NOT wish to fundraise

You can pay by cheque or online with a credit card.  Please make your cheque payable to STMC and have your grad drop it off in the office (Attention: Maureen Wong).  Or click below to pay online securely via PayPal:

Options

Any extra funds raised will be used to:

  • Purchase a parting gift for the Grads (last year grads received a hoodie)
  • Purchase prizes for the grad dinner
  • Leave a legacy gift to the school from the class of 2012
