As a result of the cancellation of the optional Grade 12 Provincial exams, the Ministry of Education has come up with a revised method of awarding Provincial Exam scholarships. Details are provided in the attached document. In short, they will be looking at English 12 Provincial Exam results plus the marks earned on the Grade 10 Provincials (Math, Science and English) and Grade 11 Provincials (Socials 11).

It should also be noted that when our current grade 12s apply to UBC, they will be asked to report grade 11 marks. Previously UBC was only interested in marks earned in grade 12 Provincially examinable courses. UBC says that the grade 11 marks reported this year will have no bearing on admission for Fall of 2012. This could change next year. All students currently in grade 11 and younger are forewarned. UBC may use grade 11 marks for determining a student's admission status in Fall of 2013.
