Alumni Class Captains

On the crest of the school's 50th anniversary, the STMC Board has announced its vigorous recommitment to the two areas that have been integral, defining strengths for all of STMC's 50 years:  Athletics and Community.

For the next few years, STMC's top two institutional priorities are to invest in an athletic program that excels in both competition and participation, and to foster the unrivalled spirit and fellowship of which STM has long been proud.  At the heart of this drive is a major effort to reconnect with our 50 years of alumni. 

There is also a historic $8 million fundraising campaign to build new athletic and community facilities that will transform the campus. Yes, there is a fundraising campaign - STMC is asking the school's 3,800+ alumni to contribute $1.5 million (one-fifth) of the $8.2 million cost of the new facilites. 

However, this drive is sincerely just as much about engagement and connection.  Our goal is to present opportunities to both reconnect and to give back to STMC.  We aim to emphasize participation in whatever way is most meaningful for each person, in a way that leaves our alumni feeling satisfied and inspired. 

Calling For Class Captains!

STM is now seeking to recruit one, two or more “Class Captains” for every grad class, to help lead a 12- to 18-month drive with three objectives: 
1. Reconnect alumni from your class with each other and with STMC.
2. Create opportunities for your classmates to reconnect in person (eg, an informal reunion, pub night, STMC Homecoming game)
3. Advise STM on the best ways to approach your class for a "class gift" to support building a new gym, field and field house.

Each Class Captain is asked to make a 12- to 18-month time committment.  A number of individuals have already stepped up to the plate and volunteered to take on this very important job.  However, the more people we have the better.
