Homecoming is STMC's largest annual reunion of Knights past and present, scheduled in conjunction with a major football game. Grad classes are encouraged to organize class reunions in conjunction with Homecoming, and all past parents, friends and community partners are invited to join the party.
At this year's Homecoming the Knights took on the Number One ranked Irish of Vancouver College. It was an awesome hard fought high school football game which the Knights won in dramatic fashion by the score of 14 - 7. The Knights came up big on the field and in the stands. We had a huge crowd led by the newly created STMC Pep Band who were absolutely awesome.
Numerous Knights of Old returned to visit their old school. They even brought their little kids who enjoyed the bouncy castle, facepainting and,of course, our wonderful concession stand which was run by current parent Chris Rickaby.
As a result of the generous support of the VC and STMC fans we were able to send a $400.00 cheque to Covenant House from the 50/50 profits. Both schools also combined to send $350.00 to the local Food Bank plus literally hundreds of pounds of non-perishable foods. It simply does not get any better than that. Blessed Edmund Rice would have been proud!
Thanks to all who helped to make this day happen!
