STMC Music Department

St. Thomas More Collegiate offers a thriving music program, featuring four bands and four choirs.

The STMC band and choir have earned national recognition and honours, and are a great point of pride of the school.  The band and choir perform regularly at school functions and in the local community.  In addition, regular participation in competitions offers important opportunities for the students to receive feedback from experts and recognition among peer schools. 

Highlights of the annual music program include the Spring Music Concert, Christmas Music Night, and the Chancellor Music Festival, which attracts students from schools across BC’s lower mainland for adjudication by experts in choir, piano, guitar, woodwind, and brass instrument ensembles.

Every other year, the band partners with the drama department to produce a full-scale musical production.  For the 2010-2011 school year, we are pleased to present "Thoroughly Modern Millie,” an award-winning Broadway musical set in the Roaring 20's.  For more information on the musical, go here.
