The annual Walkathon at St. Thomas More Collegiate is the school’s largest student-led fundraiser and is a much anticipated tradition that showcases STMC’s vibrant school spirit and the school community’s generosity and commitment to living the Essential Elements of an Edmund Rice Christian Brother Education. An STMC tradition for over 40 years, Walkathon is a great opportunity for our young people to support their fellow students and their school by reaching out to family, friends and external community to raise funds.

On Friday, October 25th, 2017, the students of St. Thomas More Collegiate will don red day attire and participate in the annual walkathon through designated areas in Burnaby to raise money to enhance the school community and provide outreach.

The goal for this year's event is to raise $60,000 and 100% student participation to support the following student selected projects:
  • A new print system that will allow students to print from virtually any device - school computers, personal laptops and tablets, Chromebooks, and phones - to STMC B&W and colour printers
  • At least one additional mobile Chromebook lab
  • Extended coverage for the student-dedicated WalkathonKnights WiFi in the front foyer and the second floor of the fine arts wing (and in more areas if we exceed our goal)
  • Bursaries
  • Missions
  • Additional projects will be selected by students if we exceed our goal

Examples of past initiatives include contributing to the new athletic facility, courtyard tables, grad activities and upgrades to student facilities. In order to reach our goal each student needs to raise a minimum of $90.

We are excited to partner again with Chimp.net to offer students the ability to do their fundraising online this year! Fundraising continues till the end of October: Students and parents can send their personal link to family and friends via email or any social media platform.

1. Go to our STMC page, where you can search for a student's name (eg. "John Doe").

2. Once on the student's page, click on either "DONATE (no account required" or "JOIN (see the group before you donate)".

Please consider supporting and empowering STMC students by making a contribution today. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will move STMC Knights closer to attaining their goal for 2017! Tax receipts will be provided for online donations of $5 and up. Thank you so much for your support!
