ADMISSIONS FOR 2024/2025

Wednesday Nov 15 and Thursday Nov 16 Info Nights:

Our Admissions Team is already planning for the 2024-25 School Year! We are reaching out to our entire community as many of you have another child who will be applying for the upcoming school year. Additionally, many of you may know a family not currently connected to the STMC Community that is intending to apply.

We are excited to share some important information regarding our upcoming Parent Information Nights, which are designed to provide valuable insights into the application process for prospective grade 8 students and their families.

Event Details:
Dates: November 15th, 16th, 29th, and 30th
Time: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

These Parent Information Nights are open to all families with students who will be applying for grade 8 in the upcoming school year. Whether you are a current member of our school community or considering joining us for the first time, these events are designed to help you make informed decisions about your child’s education.

KNIGHTS ANNUAL FUND

In November, our development team will use Giving Tuesday as the launch for our “Empower Tomorrow’s Leaders” campaign with the Knights Annual Fund.

This campaign aims to make a lasting impact by providing bursary assistance to families ensuring everyone has the opportunity to a Knight’s education. In line with Blessed Edmund Rice’s Essential Elements and STMC’s mission, we have nearly 20% of our current students receiving bursaries. It continues to reflect our commitment to Catholic identity, community, and solidarity with those facing economic challenges.

It will also address the pressing needs identified by our dedicated teachers and students, allowing the best possible transformational learning environment and experience for our young Knights.

Look to our social media platforms for updates and ways to make a difference. Together, we can Empower Tomorrow’s Leaders and give in the spirit of Bro. Edmund Rice.

POST-SECONDARY INFO NIGHT

FOOTBALL

It is playoff time! Our Knights head into the playoffs this week at all 3 levels!

Grade 8: The Grade 8s play in the Semi-finals against #1 ranked Lord Tweedsmuir.

JV: Our JVs, coming off a dominant 40-0 win in their Wildcard game, face off in their quarterfinal contest against the WJ Mouat Hawks Thursday, 3:30pm at Burnaby Lakes.

Varsity: The Varsity team, coming off a victory over crosstown rival New Westminster in their Wildcard game, face off in their quarterfinal matchup against traditional rival Vancouver College. The game is on Saturday 1:30pm at Vancouver College.

This game will be streamed on the VC YouTube Channel.

Good luck to all Knights in their playoff journey!

JAPANESE SCHOOL VISIT

The STMC community will be hosting approximately 80 students from Shonan High School from Japan on Wednesday November 22, from 8:30am to 1pm. A majority of of the activities will take place in the cafeteria during the day. Our students will be taking part in cultural and educational activities with our guests. 80 students from grade 9-12 will be asked to be ambassadors and buddy with each student from Shonan. This will be a great opportunity to make new friends and learn about new cultures for the school.
