Student Council will be hosting our first school dance on Wednesday, Nov 8 in the cafeteria from 7-10 pm.

Guest list spots are being sold in the cafeteria all week (single – $7, duo – $12, trio – $15). Students may pay for entry at the door for $10, but please note that doors will close promptly at 8 pm unless prior notice has been given to STMC Administration.

A few safety notes for parents and students to consider:
1) this dance is for STMC students only.
2) Students may be asked to provide their STMC ID at the door to confirm their guest list spot
3) Limited Edition will be on hand for security and to check bags upon entry
4) There will be no access to locker rooms or lockers once students enter the school
5) Students may check in their bags and outerwear at the coat check which will be located in the gym.

Student Volunteers: Parent Teacher Interviews

We are looking for student volunteers for Parent Teacher interviews on Thursday, Nov 9.

The job is easy! Sit at your assigned room, greet parents when they arrive, and if the teacher and parent go over time, knock on the door to inform them that they need to wrap it up.

You will receive service hours for the day and if you stay for two or more shifts, you will receive lunch OR dinner.

Click HERE for the form! You are allowed to select one, two or all three shifts.

REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE

This Wednesday, November 8, we will be having a Remembrance Day Service at 10:45am. Please note that this will be a service with the Liturgy of the Word and not a Mass. We are also expecting guests from our community for this service as we also pay tribute to our Fallen Knights. Due to timing, the slide-show of our Fallen Knights will take place before the service as our students are entering the gymnasium.

KNIGHTS ANNUAL FUND

In November, our development team will use Giving Tuesday as the launch for our “Empower Tomorrow’s Leaders” campaign with the Knights Annual Fund.

This campaign aims to make a lasting impact by providing bursary assistance to families ensuring everyone has the opportunity to a Knight’s education. In line with Blessed Edmund Rice’s Essential Elements and STMC’s mission, we have nearly 20% of our current students receiving bursaries. It continues to reflect our commitment to Catholic identity, community, and solidarity with those facing economic challenges.

It will also address the pressing needs identified by our dedicated teachers and students, allowing the best possible transformational learning environment and experience for our young Knights.

Look to our social media platforms for updates and ways to make a difference. Together, we can Empower Tomorrow’s Leaders and give in the spirit of Bro. Edmund Rice.

JAPANESE SCHOOL VISIT

The STMC community will be hosting approximately 80 students from Shonan High School from Japan on Wednesday November 22, from 8:30am to 1pm. A majority of of the activities will take place in the cafeteria during the day. Our students will be taking part in cultural and educational activities with our guests. 80 students from grade 9-12 will be asked to be ambassadors and buddy with each student from Shonan. This will be a great opportunity to make new friends and learn about new cultures for the school.

SUN RUN WITH STMC

St. Thomas More has a SUN RUN team! Race Day – Sunday, April 21, 2024

We are excited to announce that St. Thomas More will have a Sun Run team again this year. Come out and participate with your friends and family. There is a 2.5km or the 10km course. If you register before Oct. 31, you qualify for the cheapest price category. ($22 for youth; $35 for adults)

Before registering, please note the following:

  1. STMC is NOT responsible for student supervision or transportation during the Sun Run
  2. STMC may offer some training resources, such as a suggested plan to prepare for running 10km and may offer some scheduled practice runs. However, please note that runners are responsible for their own training.
  3. If we have less than 14 members on our team, the team will be disbanded and the members will be automatically moved into the Individual categories and you will be responsible for paying the upgrade fees
  4. Youth team technical shirts will have STMC Knights printed on the back; however, the Cotton shirts will NOT have a team name on the back due to a limited area of print size
  5. Parents and siblings are welcome to register as part of the Sun Run team, however, the number of youths must be greater than the number of adults on the team.

To register, please go to team member registration and select STMC Knights. Access Code: HHMLJD
