STMC Grad Class of 2019 & families:
The Dry Grad is an event organized by the Grad Committee to provide a safe and drug/alcohol free party for the graduates to have fun and socialize with their classmates. There will be no additional cost for the STMC graduates to attend the Dry Grad event. Through our fundraising efforts, the Grad Committee funds and organizes this event and it is supervised and run by Grade 11 parent volunteers. The Grad Committee hires security to be on site and buses to safely transport all graduates to the Dry Grad. Grads will leave for Dry Grad at 11:15 on buses directly from the dinner dance at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
*Non-STMC student dates are welcome to attend dry grad for a fee of $20.00 (cheques only payable to STMC PA and must be included with the consent form). Outside dates must be approved by Mr. Garland.
The Dry Grad event will be held at Canlan 8 Rinks in Burnaby on June 14th, 2019 from 11:30pm to June 15th, 5:00am following the Grad Dinner Dance. Students should bring a change of clothes to wear and leave their formal clothes with their parents. A large plastic bag will be provided at the event to store any belongings at a secure bag check. No bags are allowed into the Dry Grad facility with the exception of small makeup-sized bags.
Students and their guests attending the Dry Grad event are not to use or have any illegal substances or marijuana or alcohol during this event. If the student and his/her guest are found to be intoxicated or in the possession of drugs, they will be denied entrance to the Dry Grad and their parents/guardians will be notified to come and pick them up. There will be no “in and out” privileges. Parents will be notified if their child wishes to leave prior to 5:00am. Please note the time on the consent form if you are picking your child up early. Parents or authorized alternate must pick up grads at the conclusion of Dry Grad. Please be respectful of our volunteers and be on time to pick up your child by 5:00 am at Canlan 8 rinks @ 6501 Sprott Street Burnaby V5B 3B8.
