School districts across the province were notified by the Ministry of Education that there was an ‘anomaly in the tabulation of the Grade 12 June exam results and that a team of Ministry staff were actively working to identify and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, Independent schools were not included in this communication – we only learned of this via local media last night.
The Ministry is reviewing each June 2019 exam result to ensure student grades are accurately reflected on their transcripts. Ministry staff have also contacted B.C. post-secondary institutions to inform them of the issue and help ensure no student applications are impacted. They are also actively contacting Canadian post-secondary institutions and will work with outside post-secondary institutions as needed.
The Ministry announced earlier today that the ‘anomaly has been identified and that updated June 2019 final exam results, as well as official final transcripts will be re-posted in the Student Transcript Service website before end of today. Once these updated results are available at the school level, we will update our systems as quickly as possible.
