STMC is proud to offer our students FREE Licensed to Learn Tutor/Mentor Training (Nov. 3), as well as participation in the Licensed to Learn Student Leadership Conference (Nov. 5).
Grade 8 to 12 Knights, if you are interested in attending L2L Tutor/Mentor Training on THURSDAY, NOV. 3 (after school) and/or attending the L2L Student Leadership Conference on SATURDAY, NOV. 5 (Timing TBD), please email Mr. Adams at joe.adams@stmc.bc.ca
L2L Tutor/Mentor Training – Nov 3 (Afterschool)
The L2L Tutor/Mentor Training module allows STMC students to serve the STMC community as Peer Tutors. In completing the Tutor/Mentor Training, STMC students will also receive a L2L Tutor/Mentor Certification.

L2L Student Leadership Conference – Nov 5 (Timing TBD)
The L2L Student Leadership Conference will be tailored to the interests of STMC students. These are some of the topics that may be covered. When you register with Mr. Adams, you will be sent a survey to fill out so we can customize the topics of the conference.
Let’s Talk Resiliency
Identifying our internal strengths, Self-Care, Positive Self Talk, Building Agents of Change (1-1.5hrs)
Workshop participants will learn to recognize and enhance their own strengths so they can better advocate for themselves, their peers, and the community.
Combatting Racism
Combating Racism, Stereotypes, Intersectionality of Identities, Microaggressions (1-1.5hrs)
This workshop provides youth with tools to enhance their talents and develop a strategy to effectively combat racism. Additionally, youth will be provided additional resources to develop their understanding of racial issues.
Conflict Resolution
Conflict Styles, De-escalation, Common Misunderstandings (1-1.5hrs)
This workshop provides youth with tools to understand and identify their own conflict resolution style. Additionally, youth will develop strategies to de-escalate and resolve conflict in a positive manner.
Post-Secondary and Beyond
Post-Secondary Options, Funding, Scholarships, Goal Setting (1-1.5hrs)
This workshop provides youth with tools to understand the options available to them after high school.
