Drama: Call for Student Directors
The drama department is looking for student directors to lead this year’s one-act festival production that will happen during the week of March 9th-15th. As a student director, you will have the opportunity to select a short one-act play (20 mins approx.), cast actors, and oversee the creative elements of the performance.
Specific responsibilities include:
– Selecting an appropriate one-act play script
– Holding auditions and casting actors
– Leading rehearsals and providing direction to the cast
– Collaborating with the technical crew on set design, props, costume, lighting, and sound
– Attending production meetings and communicating with the faculty director
– Guiding the artistic vision for the performance
This is an excellent leadership opportunity for students interested in theatre production and directing. We are mainly looking for Grade 11-12 students who have had experience in acting in previous STMC drama productions.
If you are passionate about directing and want to gain hands-on experience, we encourage you to apply.
Please contact the drama department () if you are interested in serving as a student director for the one-act festival.
