PA Volunteer Opportunities

Getting to Know the PA

The purpose of the Parents Association (PA) is to support and strengthen the St. Thomas More Collegiate community and to enhance the relationship between parents, staff and students both educationally and spiritually. The PA plans and supports various school and social events that take place throughout the year.

Every parent and guardian is a member of the PA. Participating and volunteering in PA events is a great way to stay involved and meet fellow parents.

Our major fundraising events take place during the first half of the school year.  All of the money raised by the PA goes back to the school to improve the educational experiences and learning environments of our children.

Please mark these important event dates on your calendar and take advantage of the many opportunities for involvement throughout the year.

Plant a Row Grow a Row

Every Sunday morning over the summer months, up until Thanksgiving, members of our gardening community gather together at STMC to collect fresh, garden-grown fruits and vegetables to share with those in need through the Union Gospel Mission in New Westminster.

This community outreach project has had tremendous success over the years and new volunteers are always welcome to help share in the work and spread the love.

Our annual Spring Gardeners’ Party is held in March at the school, where gardening experts including Brian Minter, share helpful gardening advice. Guests enjoy each other’s company while learning new gardening skills! The evening is topped off by lovely refreshments, complete with home baking and fun raffle prizes! You definitely won’t want to miss the annual Spring Gardeners’ Party!
