The St. Thomas More Collegiate Choir program features five premier performance ensembles. Students from Grade 8 to Grade 12 all have a place in our program from Concert Choir to Jazz Choir. Currently we offer Gr. 8 Concert Choir, Gr. 9 Concert Choir, Senior Concert Choir, and two provincially and nationally recognized auditioned groups – The STMC Chamber Singers & The STMC Jazz Singers. The Choirs perform regularly at school concerts and functions as well as take part in various festivals around the lower mainland.
The STMC choir program is also excited to offer enrichment opportunities for students by way of our annual music trips that have taken us to performance venues in Whistler, Seattle, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, New Orleans, and Disneyland. A point of pride for the Choir program is the continued success it has had, ranking among the top groups in the lower mainland, while continuing to earn invitations for all the performing groups to Musicfest Canada. The Choral program has had it’s share of successes from numerous first place finishes at Provincials to one first place and two second place rankings at Nationals. With growing enrollment every year, we are excited for what the future will bring to the choir department!
