It is with profound sadness and deep faith in the promise of the Resurrection that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Rose Astorino-Salzano.

After an extraordinary journey marked by immense courage, unwavering perseverance, and remarkable grace, Rose has entered into eternal life.

Throughout her battle, Rose inspired all who knew her with her strength, hope, and steadfast faith. Even in the midst of great suffering, her greatest joy remained the love of her family and the anticipation of welcoming her first grandchild later this year—a hope she carried close to her heart until the very end of her natural life.

For so many years, Rose gave so generously of herself to the St. Thomas More Collegiate community. Rose was an exceptional educator whose dedication to her students was matched only by her kindness, compassion, and genuine love for others.

Rose’s beautiful smile, warm heart, generous spirit, and wonderful sense of humour brought comfort and joy to countless students, colleagues, parents, and friends. Rose had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, valued, and loved.

As a community rooted in Catholic faith, we entrust Rose to the loving mercy of our Lord, confident in Christ’s promise that death is not the end but the beginning of eternal life.

We ask that you keep Rose, her husband Dave, her children Luca, Vanessa, and Valentina, and all who loved Rose in your prayers during this time of profound loss.

May God surround the Salzano family with His peace, strength, and the comfort that comes from knowing they are held in His loving embrace.

We are deeply grateful for the gift of Rose’s life and for the many blessings she shared with our community. Though Rose will be greatly missed, her faith, love, and joy will remain a lasting part of the St. Thomas More Collegiate family.

Eternal rest grant unto Rose, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon Rose.
May she rest in peace.
Amen.

Thank you to Maria Cirillo for her significant contribution in writing this memorial message for Rose.
