The final stage of the Glenbrook Kingsway project, the restoration paving, is now scheduled with all permits having been approved. Weather may affect the schedule.
This work will be happening in the two north lanes of Kingsway.
Vehicles coming out of 12th Avenue will not be able to turn right onto Kingsway on July 2.
- Fri June 27 – In-road repair work from 12th to 14th Avenue
7am to 5pm: - Wed Jul 2nd – Road preparation and paving from 12th to 15th Avenue
–7am to 8pm for work
– 2 north lanes remain closed overnight - Wed Jul 2nd – Line painting
– after paving complete – evening
– two north lanes remain closed overnight - Thu Jul 3rd – Take down closure

Good evening families,
Metro Vancouver will be doing final restoration work on Kingsway later this month or in early May. The paving contractor will be paving the north half of Kingsway between 12th Street and 15th Street. Kingsway will be open with one lane of traffic in each direction.
The 12th Street intersection at Kingsway will be open, but because the north side of Kingsway will be closed, right turns out of 12th Street onto Kingsway will not be permitted during preparation and paving. Traffic at the intersection will continue to be controlled by the traffic light. A flagger will be positioned at the intersection to assist with emergency access and the movement of large vehicles if necessary.
As soon as the final paving schedule is released, another update will be sent out to the community.

Dear STMC Community,
Due to ongoing sewer construction, there will be major traffic disruptions during the 2024-25 school year.
These traffic disruptions will make it very difficult to access 12th Avenue from Kingsway, and it will be very difficult to exit 12th Avenue on to Kingsway.
Please see attached Traffic Management Plan (TMP) Part 1 of 2, and Part 2 of 2 for reference.
Road work will be carried out on the corner of 12th Avenue and Kingsway starting September 3rd.
The road work will continue passed September 6th, but we will update this link when we receive more information.
Important:
After dropping students off at STMC, you will not be permitted to make a RIGHT turn from 12th Avenue on to Kingsway.
It is advised that you use Canada Way to access 12th Avenue for student drop-off and pick-up.
