Come join the STMC Drama Crew!
The STMC Drama Department is seeking crew members for this year’s upcoming one-act festival. This dedicated team brings magic to the backstage. From managing props, lighting, sounds, set changes, makeup, and costumes, their efforts often invisible but indispensable.
We are looking to fill the following positions:
Stage Manager
The stage manager is the ultimate multitasker, running the show behind the scenes. They make sure rehearsals stay on track, keep the actors in line, and give the crew their cues to make sure the performance is flawless—think of them as the production’s control center!
Set Director
The set director is the visionary artist who transforms an empty stage into a whole new world. From designing a jaw-dropping castle to creating a cozy living room, they bring the setting of the story to life, making sure everything looks epic and works smoothly.
Props Master
The props master is the go-to guru for all the random stuff actors need to make the show real—from the coffee mugs to the magical swords. They track down, build, and organize everything the actors touch, ensuring each prop is exactly where it needs to be for the perfect moment.
Costume Coordinator
The costume coordinator is the creative genius who outfits the cast, making sure everyone looks awesome and matches their character. They make sure everyone looks fabulous and stays comfy in their outfits during the show!
Makeup Artist(s)
Makeup artists are the transformation artists who turn actors into totally different people (or creatures!). They use makeup to create everything from cuts and bruises to elaborate fantasy looks, making sure each character’s appearance matches the story’s vibe, no matter how wild.
Lighting Designer
The lighting designer controls the vibe of the entire show, setting the mood with a flick of a switch. Whether it’s casting shadows for a spooky scene or using bright colors to amp up the energy, they make sure every moment shines—literally.
Sound Operator(s)
The sound operator is the sound wizard who makes sure every microphone, music cue, and special effect hits just right. From dramatic music to the sound of a door creaking open, they’re in charge of creating the audio magic that pulls the audience into the story.
Stage Hands
Stage hands are the backstage ninjas, sprinting across the stage during scene changes to move sets, props, and everything in between. They work in the shadows, quietly ensuring that every scene transition happens in record time without a hitch, often without anyone even noticing!
